Who to blame, or is it just bad luck?

Fans get frustrated when such a talented club does not win enough titles. One of the reasons for frustrations might be injuries. Injuries have been a nightmare to Arsenal in the last few years.

Do you guys remember when Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie couldn’t play together because of their injuries? Well, since Mesut Ozil has been purchased, both he and English star Theo Walcott have only played a total of five games together. But, that’s not the only problem. Arsenal started this season without Walcott and Serge Gnabry.

Now the injury list has increased with only seven games played in the Premier League. In the season opener against Everton, Oliver Giroud suffered a tibia injury. In the second game against Leicester City, Arsenal lost their other striker, Yaya Sanogo, who was replacing Grioud, with a hamstring injury. Right after that, before the transfer season closed, Arsene Wenger had no other option but to buy a striker, where he successfully purchased Daniel Welbeck from the Red Devils. Mathieu Debuchy suffered an ankle injury against title contenders Manchester City, which was the third game of the season. That same game, Arsenal lost Nacho Monreal with a back injury.

Within three weeks Arsenal had lost four players and had six players in total on their injury list. Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta later suffered muscle injuries in the North London derby against Tottenham, which almost cost them the game if it wasn’t for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who scored the equalizer.

This week, while we all take a break from club matches and prepare ourselves for some International friendlies and Euro Cup 2016 Qualifiers, Arsenal gets bad news from two international teams. Mesut Ozil suffers a knee injury and will be out for approximately 10-12 weeks. Laurent Koscielny returns back from reporting with France and was not allowed to participate with the international team because of achilles troubles. Now, in total, Arsenal has 8 injured players, not counting Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry who have been training with the team recently. Are we to blame Arsene Wenger because of lack of squad rotation or is this Arsenal’s curse?

Back in the summer, Arsenal hired Shad Forsythe to work on Arsenal’s condition and fitness. Shad had just worked with the World Cup winners Germany right before Arsenal hired him. With these major problems occurring, does Wenger have another choice but to be busy in the winter transfer season to bring in players? There’s rumors that Arsenal wants to purchase Edinson Cavani from PSG or German star Julian Draxler from Schalke 04. We will wait to see what Wenger decides to do and hope his injury list does not increase.
