Brian Hoyer, QB, Houston Texans, 17.4% owned
Hoyer has been productive in recent weeks. He has thrown two or more touchdowns five straight weeks. Ryan Mallett was recently released, which gives Hoyer even more job security.
The Texans are entering the bye week, but they have the Bengals, the Jets, and the Saints coming up. The Jets have given up more than 300 yards two weeks in a row and the Saints have given up 295 or more yards in six out of their first eight games. Hoyer figures to have some pretty impressive numbers in the coming weeks.
DeAngelo Williams, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers, 27.2% owned
Williams did a great job starting when Le’Veon Bell was serving his suspension, scoring 14.2 and 31.2 in Weeks 1 and 2. Now that Bell is out for the season, Williams is a solid pickup. He scored 15 against the Bengals, most of those points came after Bell was injured.
The Steelers are going up against the Raiders and the Browns in the next two weeks, and both of them have recently given up 35 or more points to the running backs.
Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans Saints, 29.3% owned
Coslton and quarterback Drew Brees got reacquainted against the Giants, catching 8 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Colston had been a forgotten receiver recently, so it was nice that he got some better looks this week.
The Saints face the Titans next week who, aside from two weeks, have given up 38.9 points or more to receivers. Look for that to continue next week, and look for Colston to be targeted often.
Vernon Davis, TE, Denver Broncos, 15.2% owned
Davis has not had much of an opportunity to catch many passes in the San Francisco offense. Now that he has been traded to the Broncos, he has a better chance of getting more touches. Now that Peyton Manning seems to be back to himself, Davis could rack up some serious points.
The first game for Davis on the Broncos will be against the Colts, who gave up 19.9 to the tight end against New England and 24 against New Orleans. This should be a favorable matchup.
