The NFC East is has always been one of the NFL’s toughest divisions. The East is always competitive and each game is a toss up. Therefore, when the trade deadline comes around it is imperative that big moves are made. This year is no exception for most of the division. As several teams made a huge splash at the last minute.
The Redskins Get Even Better on Defense
The Redskins completed a trade with the Green Bay Packers for DB HaHa Clinton-Dix. In return for Dix the Packers receive a fourth round pick. Dix is sure to add to an already formidable Skins defense that is among the leagues best at stopping the pass. The Redskins believe they have as good a chance as any to win the NFC East this year and the addition of Dix can only bolster their chances.
The Eagles Swoop In And Grab Top WR
The defending Super Bowl champs have been desperate for consistency on offense. However, they may have took a step in the right direction after making a trade for Golden Tate. The Lions gave up the star wide out for a 3rd round pick. A pick Philadelphia was more than happy to part with to give Carson Wentz a new weapon.
The Cowboys Get Help From Out West
Dallas’ biggest move of the trade deadline by far as we’ve already mentioned is the acquisition of receiver Amari Cooper. Cooper was dealt to the Cowboys for a first round pick. Dallas has struggled in the passing game all season and have wagered a lot the Cooper is the answer to all their problems. A first round pick is a hefty price and next week we see if it starts to pay off.
The Giants Move On From The Wrong Eli
The trade deadline came and went and the Giants have finally let go of Eli. The only problem is, it’s Apple and not Manning. New York seemed to be a QB away from being respectable on offense. However, instead of moving Manning chose to deplete and already inconsistent defense. The Giants traded Eli Apple to the saints for a 4th and 7th round pick. That combined with the departure of DT Damon “Snacks” Harrison ensures the G-Men will finish in the basement.
