Everyone in Club Deportivo America though Raul Jimenez was going to FC Porto, but according to Ricardo Pelaez, the Portuguese club made a weak offer for the player. Raul Jimenez is indeed leaving Club America according to AS, a Spanish Sport Daily. Both Club America and Atletico De Madrid have come into an agreement for the Star Striker, apart from a few details. His announcement should be in the next coming hours. If this is true then Raul Jimenez is probably on his way to Madrid to undergo the standard medical procedure and join Diego Simeone’s squad in the next week.
The report adds on that coach Diego Simeone’s was impressed by what he saw from the Mexican Star in a supporting role, which he has been searching to compliment striker Mario Mandzukic. The negotiations for Jimenez began a couple of weeks ago when Altetico was on their tour of North America, where they faced Club America in the Azteca Stadium.
Raul Jimenez is not only a supportive player, but he’s also a scoring-wise, as he already has four goals in three games this season and 32 goals in 93 games in domestic competition. Not bad for being a 23-year old player. If the deal is finalized, then Atletico De Madrid who has offered 11 million euros for the striker will have beaten both FC Porto and Valencia who also expressed interest in the striker and have offered to pay 5 million Euros for the player.
