Sevilla continues to be in great form as they toppled over Levante on Tuesday night, which marked week 30 of La Liga matches. With today’s win, Sevilla has been able to tie up against Valencia C.F. in La Liga table with a total of 61 points each, with Valencia being one game short.

On Tuesday night, the Frenchman, Kevin Gameiro, opened up the scoring for Sevilla in the 10th minute with Jose Antonio Reyes scoring the second goal for Sevilla in the 37th minute to help his team take a 2-0 lead in the first half. Kale Uche gave life to Levante in the 73rd minute as they opened up the scoring and put Levante one goal behind with only 17 minutes left in the match.

Gameiro was in the starting XI along with Reyes to give Carlos Bacca and Aleix Vidal a midweek rest before Saturday’s game against FC Barcelona and both were able to score for their team. Gameiro put up Sevilla in the first 10 minutes of the match when a pass from Reyes went through two defenders and into the feet of Gameiro. Gameiro then took on Juanfran and without thinking twice about it, went for the open shot from the right flank and past Diego Mariño for the 1-0 score.

With this goal, Gameiro was able to get his sixth goal of the season. Not only did he score for Sevilla but he also assisted Reyes with his first goal of the season. Vitolo found Gameiro opened in the left flank and waited to make sure his teammate was not offsides. Gameiro then found both Vicente Iborra and Reyes opened in the middle and right side of the field. Iborra had an intention to go for the ball but realized he was offsides and instead allowed the ball to go past him and to Reyes to get it past Marino and make a 2-0 game.

Kalu Uche got his fourth goal of the season when he put Levante on the scoreboard with 17 minutes left in the game. A cross from Ruben Garcia allowed Uche to jump for the ball and head it towards Sevilla’s net. The ball then bounced of the right post and went past the goal line as Nicolas Pareja tried to save it from going in but was to late as Uche made it a 2-1.

Levante seemed to be alive after their goal in the 73rd minute, but there was not enough effort from the team as they fell to Sevilla.

Sevilla will face FC Barcelona, who will be a tough opponent to beat but the way they have been playing might give the Catalans some trouble while Levante faces fourth place Valencia on Monday to try to stay away from the relegation zone.
