With just three wins in their last 18 matches, it s amazing that Empoli are clear of the relegation zone. Inter Milan are waiting to see if their new investments will pay off. Xherdan Shaqiri made his debut for Milan substituting in for fellow newcomer Lukas Podolski. They were not able to break through and were lucky to come away with a point. Empoli were able to get the better of Inter with more possession and shots, but were only able to come away with a point.

Roma are knipping at the heels of table leaders, Juventus, but were unable to close the gap as they drew to tenth place Palermo. Roma had a majority of the possession and more shots, but an absent Francesco Totti may have been the difference maker. An early goal by Paulo Dybala in the second minute made Roma fight for their point. They were able to get one back in the 54th minute with a goal by Mattia Destro. Roma take on Fiorentina on the 25th of this month next.

Third place Lazio with 31 points aimed to earn their position on the table against fourth place Napoli with 30 points. Gonzalo Higuain was the only scorer of the day in the 18th minute with an absolute rocket of a strike from six yards out that proved too much for Lazio keeper Etrit Berisha. Lazio were able to keep a majority of possession and even got seven shots on target but were unable to secure any points.

Napoli move into third place on the table eight points behind Roma and 13 points behind leaders Juventus. Lazio drop to fifth, two points behind Sampdoria and Napoli.

AC Milan dropped three points to 15th place Atlanta after a 33rd minute goal German Dennis on a counter attack. Milan held a majority of the possession, but Atlanta were more dangerous as they took more shots.

Milan now sit in 8th place five points behind fifth place, Lazio and are in a bit of a slump since defeating Real Madrid in a friendly earlier this month.

Atlanta sit in 15th just two points above relegation.

Juventus put on quite an impressive display showing exactly why they are in first place. Paul Pogba opened up the scoring in the third minute with a long range effort that struck the low right corner of the goal. Carlos Tevez made it two-nil just four minutes later with a great shot with the inside of his foot from a low cross to find the back of the net. Roberto Pereyra scored his first goal of the season finding the top corner of the near post after a good ball played on his run from Giorgio Chiellini. Tevez scored his second of the night after he was fed inside the box, then turned and shot the ball low finding the gap of the keepers legs.

Juventus extend their lead in the table to five points after Roma could not gain all three points from Parma. Juventus continue a great run having lost just one match in the league and it is their only loss since November 1st of 2014. Their goal difference also rises to an astonishing +33.
