The San Diego Chargers have signed WR/KR Jacoby Jones to a two-year deal. Jones joins a Chargers team that has not had a relevant return game since Darren Sproles. The Chargers saw what Jones could do first hand last season as he burnt the San Diego special teams multiple times.

Despite his brilliant performance against the Chargers, Jones had a less than average 2014. In his eighth season out of Lane College, Jones only racked up 131 yards on 9 receptions. He also accounted for five dropped passes and muffed two punts.

Despite his struggles, Jones has proven to be effective in the return game as he was one of two players to rank in the top-ten in both punt and kickoff returns. This would add a huge boost to the Chargers’ offense. Another great thing about adding the 30-year old is that Keenan Allen will no longer carry the returning duties, allowing him to focus on offense.

Jones played a key role in the Ravens’ road to their Super Bowl XLVII victory. He was on the other end of a 70-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds left in the Division Round against the Denver Broncos.

That score went on to force overtime and led to the eventual 38-35 victory. In the Super Bowl, he scored on a 56-yard TD pass and ran a kickoff back 108 yards for a TD in the 34-31 victory.
