After the 2-0 Champions League loss against Olympiakos on Tuesday, the Dutchman, Robin Van Persie is uncertain about staying at Old Trafford any longer. He will consider his future in the summer after the season ends. He has no release clause in his current contract in which he still has two years left with Manchester United. However, the Red Devils are quite unlikely to allow him to leave.

The same thing that happened with Wayne Rooney in the summer with his desire to move to Chelsea. Is Robin Van Persie that unsettled with the current form of Manchester United that he is willing to leave the team that won the league last season? David Moyes managed to convince Rooney to stay which took a lot of negotiating. His new contract is for five and a half years, which will keep him until he is 33.

Van Persie commented his complaints that his teammates are making it difficult for him to play his game by occupying the spaces he normally covers. He was careful to not offend Moyes but his frustration towards his teammates was also an insult to Moyes’ tactics. Van Persie didn’t receive that many chances at goal vs Olympiakos, but he blew the one major chance United had in the end of the match.

Van Persie was disappointed in Alex Ferguson’s choice of replacement, since it was Ferguson who was the key factor in his 24 million Euro transfer from Arsenal, even though Manchester City offered him a higher wage than United. Van Persie has been plagued with injuries this season, but it is predicted that he will be in prime condition for the 2014 FIFA World Cup that will take place this summer in Brazil.

Nice article. Glad to see him stay with BVB. Hope he gets healthy soon and inspires the rest of their young team to stay put. They can be very good for a long time.
