If the Washington Redskins could rewind the 2013 NFL season Kirk Cousins would have started under center. After Robert Griffin III tore his ACL in the playoffs last year the Redskins 2013 season was in jeopardy; losing their franchise quarterback for possibly the whole year. But knowing how competitive RGIII is he didn’t want to disappoint the Washington fans. After his surgery Robert didn’t hesitate to get back into training mode and try to make it back in time for the start of the 2013 season. He made it back in time to start, but in all reality he shouldn’t have started the season and recovered some more.

If Washington would have started Cousins in the beginning of the season they may be playing for a playoff spot in week 16. Kirk could have started the first 8 games and let Griffin III recover fully from his ACL injury. The Redskins could have been looking at a 5-3 record half way through the season and a healthy RGIII.

Kirk Cousins could be starting for many other teams in the NFL. He plays great under center. Cousins is a pocket passer that makes good decisions and can lead any team to a win. This past week he threw for 350+ yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Shannahan trusted Cousins the entire game and put the game on his back. Kirk played great under pressure. Never looking nervous and keeping calm when the pocket collapsed. Cousins has two more games against weak defenses to prove he is worth a first round pick and become a starter on a different franchise.
