The NBA conference finals have begun to get serious after a pair of pivotal game 5’s. All four teams had  a golden opportunity to get one win away from the NBA finals with a victory. However there could only be two victorious clubs. Both games would have surprising results after tremendous performances on defense, leaving many expert’s finals predictions hanging on by a thread.

Game Summary

Biggest story of game 5 between the Cavs and Celtics was  undoubtedly the lack of help for LeBron James. LeBron James. had no back up from his teammates, and his 26 points was nowhere near enough to make up for his teammates offensive struggles. The Celtics defense was tenacious, closing out on shooters not allowing Cleveland the 3 point shots they are accustom to. Furthermore the Cavs had no answer for Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum who scored 17 and 24 points respectively, while also playing lights out defense.

Game Summary

Hear them and hear them well, the Rockets are for real, they are also one win away form there first NBA finals in more than 20 years. The wondering if wether or not the Rockets could win back to back games were answered in game 5. Steph Curry was not himself late in the game as he was convincingly outplayed by James Harden. Harden had 19 points but it was Chris Paul who had the biggest impact before getting hurt. Although he left injured he scored 20 points and he made big play after big play when it mattered. As for the Warriors quite simply they had no response for Houston’s stifling defense in the fourth quarter. Furthermore they were subpar defensively themselves without former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.

Houston 98 – Golden State 94
