It was announced Sunday that Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk would be suspended for the remainder of the season. Mauk has been suspended earlier this season, and was just reinstated last week. This ban comes for “disciplinary reasons”, as noted by Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel. Mauk will miss matchups with Mississippi State, BYU, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Mauk was first suspended on September 29th for a violation of team policies and missed the week five matchup with South Carolina. He was finally reinstated on October 27th, and had “rejoined team activities”, per Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel spoke to ESPN’s Greg Ostendorf about Mauk’s situation, stating that the quarterback is “going through some personal things,” but also that he had also must “protect the integrity of the program”.
True freshman Drew Lock is likely to continue in the starting role. He has seen action in all eight of Missouri’s game this year, going 77 of 152 for 763 yards, with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
