Lazio seemed to have gotten off on the right foot with a goal in the 45th minute. Miroslav Klose was sent down the right flank and showed great speed and strength to fight off his defender and drive towards goal before slotting an easy one past the defender. Experience and class exposition by the veteran.
Chievo Verona got their equalizer in the 76th minute despite only having two shots in goal throughout the match. A series of passes atop the box saw a short cross come into the box, but was only cleared to Alberto Paloschi sitting just out wide. He controlled the ball calmly with time and smashed one into the top corner off the volley. Just too much pace on it for the keeper.
Not the worst result, but Lazio definitely deserved more from the match. They stay second on the table and are lucky to do so as Roma lost their match to Inter. The race for a Champions League and Europa League position is still close. Every point matters now.
