In the aftermath of their press conference disaster back in August, UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones and top 205 pound contender Daniel Cormier appeared before the Nevada State Athletic Commission last night. Both fighters received a 10% fine from their guaranteed purse at UFC 182 and community service. Jones, the admitted aggressor has to give up $50,000 and serve 40 hours before the bout on January 3rd. While Cormier gets hit with a $9K fine and 20 hours.
This decision only adds to the already stark consequences for the Champ, who lost his highly publicized and lucrative endorsement deal with Nike after the incident.
From Jones’ Twitter:
The fact that this needs to be completed before the fight is definitely going to have effect on my camp. I respect the commission though
