What’s going on with Justin Verlander? If you have been checking up on any kind of social media site there is a big chance you already know. A massive hacking was reported to have leaked nude photos of about 100 celebrities on August 31st. Included in those photos were Kate Upton and, you guessed it, her current boyfriend, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander.
Just a few weeks ago Kate Upton was found at Yankee Stadium watching the Tigers play the Yankees (pictured above). She stated that they told her she couldn’t wear Tigers gear to the game because she was in New York. As we saw in the 2011 celebrity softball game, Upton is a Yankees fan.

In support of her boyfriend Verlander, Kate showed up very nicely dressed and without baseball gear to Yankee Stadium. This was the same game where we witnessed Verlander tossing her a baseball.
Boy have things changed, as both Upton and Verlander have been caught in the midst of this huge scandal! This could affect many things to come for Justin Verlander. Could the team chemistry change? Will his teammates still respect him? Who knows what can happen after these photos have been leaked and what Verlander himself will say to the media about these pictures.
I know this probably doesn’t matter much right now, but let’s take a look at Verlander’s numbers. From 2009 to 2012 Verlander earned a win-loss record of 78-31 with a 2.95 ERA. It is unclear when Justin Verlander and Kate Upton began dating, but in the last two years from 2013 to 2014, Verlander has had a 25-23 record with a 4.00 ERA. These pictures could be the telltale display of why his numbers are deteriorating.
It will be interesting to see how the MLB, the Detroit Tigers, and Justin Verlander address this and if any punishment could result out of these nudes. Who knows, maybe we’ll get to see Verlander in the latest edition of Got Heem on Intention Talk.
