On Sunday, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum inducted six all-time greats. Pitchers Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine, slugging first baseman Frank Thomas, and legendary managers Joe Torre, Bobby Cox, and Tony La Russa will now stand forever with the greatest the game has ever seen. All deserve induction as they were simply the best at what they did. Younger fans, though, may forget or may have never seen the infamous commercial that Maddux and Glavine made during their best days as pitchers for the Atlanta Braves.
The “”Chicks Dig the Long Ball” commercial remains one of the classic baseball commercials of all time. Its humor got the Nike brand and “Just Do It” slogan much recognition (as if it needed more) and pushed Maddux and Glavine even further into baseball lore.
