Everyday I will cover the fantasy relevance of each team in the NFL division by division. I start with the AFC East. Today’s team is the Miami Dolphins. There’s a lot of questions regarding how affective this offense will be this coming season but here’s a preview of which players will likely make an impact and are worth owning in the fantasy football world this season.

Knowshon Moreno/Lamar Miller: Originally I had Moreno as the lead back for this offense thus making him worth owning. Although after recent reports from the Dolphins OTA’s Moreno has been working with the second team because he’s out of shape. Instead Lamar Miller has been running things with the first team offense. Now if Moreno had the starting position locked I would have him ranked just inside my top-30 RB’s because I think he’s good enough if he gets the starting job to hold on to it thanks to his ability to be a little better than average at all aspects of the game. When we key in on who’s better at running the ball, I would have to say it’s Lamar Miller, yes he had a horrendous second year but if we pin that on the sophomore slump then Miller can start fresh again. Due to his age and lack of injuries I see much more upside with Miller and if he gets the starting job I don’t expect him to do much better in terms of fantasy but I think he’ll be the better real life runner. So I likely won’t be drafting Moreno but if these types of reports keep surfacing I would take a chance on Miller very late in drafts or if you’re in a shallower league just keep an eye out for him on your waiver wires.

Mike Wallace: Another player who disappointed last season but I think will bounce back to have a slightly better year. Although I do expect a bounce back there isn’t much of a value pick here. People in drafts so far this year have taken Wallace as the 35th receiver on average, which is about where I would take him. We’ve seen what Wallace can do so he’s worth a shot to be a high end WR3 or Flex. Another thing looking up for Wallace is the addition of OC Bill Lazor, which should be a good sign especially since he was able to make Riley Cooper relevant for football purposes.

Ryan Tannehill: The QB position is too deep this year. Colin Kaepernick who recently signed an enormous deal may not even finish as a top 12 QB this year in fantasy football. I see Tannehill finishing around that number 20 spot. New OC should also have a positive affect on Tannehill’s game but unfortunately for Tannehill he doesn’t have the weapons that were available for Foles in Philly. On top of that we all know the real offensive genius in Philly is Chip Kelly. Tannehill is good injury filler but he won’t do enough to compete for QB1 status in fantasy.

Jarvis Landry: A sleeper pick and a definitely must own in dynasty leagues. Landry should eventually be able to pass up Hartline as the number two receivers and with the lack of chemistry between Tannehill and Wallace last season I can see Landry becoming a useful receiver. He may not have the speed that Wallace has but he can get open and if Tannehill continues to lack time in the pocket Landry will be a good short option for him.
