The 2014 American League Cy Young Award Winner can now add a 5-year extension with the Cleveland Indians to his offseason awards. The Indians and Kluber have been working on an extension before the 2015 season started and with Opening Day just 2 days away they finally came to an agreement.
The extension should come as no surprise since Kluber was one of the best pitchers in baseball last season. He turned in a 2.44 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, collected 269 strikeouts on the way to a 18-9 record. The Indians have high hopes for 2015 thanks to certain additions and also not losing many key pieces. They will be healthier than they were last season and having Kluber as their ace will only help.
Kluber is barely going to turn 29 during the season and the fact that he never pitched more than 148 innings in a season before 2014 proves that he is a young 29 with no wear-and-tear on his talented right arm.
Kluber looks to build off his impressive 2014 season and will continue to haunt his opponents with his devastating curveball.
