The game we have all been waiting for is finally here. FC Barcelona will be going head to head with Juventus at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany. FC Barcelona played their last final in 2011 when they won 3-1 against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium. They are looking to add a fifth Champions League title today but it will not be easy as they face a very strong Juventus squad. Juventus is looking to add a third UEFA Champions League title since 1996 but in order for them to do that they need to stop the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
These two teams have met six times in the past, the last time in the 2003 Champions League quarterfinal with Juventus taking the win in a 3-2 aggregate score. They have each won one game, tied one and lost one having a 2-2-2 record with Juventus scoring six goals and Barcelona scoring seven.
With Andrea Pirlo in the midfield and Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata up front, Barcelona’s defense will have to put some work today while Gianluigi Buffon will need help from his defense as well to stop the best attacking squad thus far in Barcelona history.
With that being said, follow along with our Live blog of the UEFA Champions League final when it kicks off at 8:45PM CET(11:45AM PST).
