We have all heard about the whole Toronto Maple Leaf fans throwing the jerseys on the ice a few nights ago by now. If what took place after Thursday’s 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning is any indication, the Maple Leafs are starting to grow a little angry.
After Thursday’s win, the Maple Leafs were congratulating goaltender Johnathan Bernier when it appeared that team captian Dion Phaneuf and veteran Phil Kessel were seen talking, then the whole team skated off. I’m not insinuating that the conversation the two shared had anything to do with the Leafs not saluting the fans, it’s just interesting to note. Since the team did what they did, the main question is “Did the Maple Leafs snub their fans?”
This can be seen a couple of different ways. Maybe they were trying to change things up and be professional. Maybe they did snub the fans. However, the salute happened after Saturday’s win over the Detroit Red Wings. But for one second, lets say it didn’t take place. Then snubbing would almost be the guaranteed answer. Could you blame the Leafs for snubbing their fans after they’ve thrown jerseys on the ice? I’m not saying the fans deserved it because I’m a Leafs fan myself, I’m saying respect and all is a two way street.
