Carlos Tevez Scores Brace to Help Juventus past Dortmund 3-0

Carlos Tevez added to his impressive form with two goals and an assist to ease Juventus past Borussia Dortmund and into the Quarter Finals of the Champions League.

The Argentine striker smashed in from 30 yards early in the match to give Juventus a 3-1 lead on aggregate after winning 2-1 at home in the first leg three weeks ago. Dortmund knew going into the match that they needed to score at least one to go through but created very little despite early pressure.

The tie looked gone early in the second half when Tevez squared to Álvaro Morata before the Juve forward completed a successful night for the Italian champions with his second match 29 minutes from the end.

The former Manchester City, Manchester United player opened the scoring three weeks ago when the sides met in Turin and his performance in the second leg sealed his sides third quarter final in nine years.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side- twice winners of the competition will be one that few will want to face when the draw takes place on Friday. With an impressive 14 point cushion in Serie A the Italian side can afford to rotate their team to rest them for big European games giving them a strong chance of success in this years competition.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp said his side faced “football’s biggest challenge” in scoring against an Italian side with a lead to defend and in truth, their own poor defending led to them being comfortably picked apart.

Juventus were great tonight without Andrea Pirlo before the match and Paul Pogba for most of the game, when fully fit and rested they will be a tough team to beat in this years Champions League.
