Roma 0-2 Sampdoria
Although Roma found themselves on the attacking side for much of the first half, Sampdoria were able to find a goal in the 60th minute.
Alessio Romagnoli showed some great skill taking on two players on the byline and sending a low cross into the path of Lorenzo De Silvestre who controlled it within a group of players and tapped it home.
Sampdoria doubled their lead with a great counter attack in the 78th minute. Luis Muriel took the ball up into the penalty box and cut one defender before unleashing a curling shot that hit the post and back out to Alfred Duncan who laid it off to a charging Eder Martins, but his effort was deflected back out to Muriel who hit it home from 10 yards out.
Sampdoria take all thee points from the second place team, who are 14 points behind the league leaders, and remain in sixth, even on points with Fiorentina and one point behind fourth place, Napoli. The four spots under first place are up for grabs.
Roma have been experiencing problems in the recent past. Before worrying about cutting Juventus lead, but now thy see themselves struggling to keep their position on the table. Lazio are just one point behind and Napoli four. With just one win in their last five matches, Roma will need to find the strength to finish out the league strong if they want to play in the Champions League next season.
