Minnesota Vikings (2-2) @ Green Bay Packers (2-2)
8:25 pm ET @ Lambeau Field (CBS/NFLN)
The Vikings are coming off of a dominating performance over the Atlanta Falcons, winning 41-28. The defense dominated Matt Ryan, who despite throwing 3 TDs, also threw 2 INTs. Now, here’s where it gets interesting. In his two games, Teddy Bridgewater has thrown for 467 yards, 317 in his first start this past weekend. He is yet to throw an INT or a TD pass. He does have one rushing TD but will need to use the arm more when getting into red zone situations. By no means does it mean he’s inaccurate. Give him time and he’ll reach his receivers. Also, Matt Asiata is a man to watch out for. Along with 159 rushing yards, he has 111 receiving yards, and 4 TDs. He is one of 4 Vikings that have 100+ receiving yards.
Now, we have the Packers. Believe it or not, the Packers have one of the worst (statistical) offenses in the NFL. Sitting at #28 on offense and #26 on defense, who are they still managing to stay at 2-2? Simple, 9 TDs and just 1 INT thrown by Aaron Rodgers. He is the model of consistency and the reason the Packers don’t go “belly-up”. Many believed that Eddie Lacy would be a huge component to the success of this team, and they were right. Because the running game isn’t running as expected, this squad is just at 2-2. Now, this team has a lot of talent. Jordy Nelson already has 459 yards and 3 TDs, followed by Randall Cobb with 239 yards and 5 TDs. Playing at home gives them a big edge against their division rival.
Fantasy Notes
Start ‘em: Teddy Bridgewater (If Healthy), Jordy Nelson, Matt Asiata
Sit ‘em: Green Bay Defense/ST, Eddie Lacy, Cordarrelle Patterson
Xandro’s Fearless Prediction: This game won’t be won in the air. It will basically be Bridgewater/Asiata vs Lacy/Starks. Whoever has the better rushing attack, the passing game will follow suit. The Packers need to be on UPSET ALERT.
Final Score: Vikings 24-Packers 21
