After a poor showing last week, Chicago looks for a much needed bounce back. Minnesota is no easy foe but it is definitely a team that could give Jay Cutler some confidence.
As one of the surprise teams this season, Cleveland gets the opportunity to face a great pass rush. The o-line protecting Brian Hoyer is key. If they can do so, they will keep themselves at the top of the AFC North.
Let’s face it, Carolina has been terrible. Yet, they are still well in the mix for the division title. At 3-6-1, they are right right behind New Orleans, who are at 4-5. A win this weekend against 3-6 Atlanta, they could keep themselves close to the top of the NFC South and knock down their opponent in the division standings.
With a very narrow lead in the NFC South, New Orleans faces a team that really would like to regain control of the AFC North in the Cincinnati Bengals. Playing at home, we know how incredible Drew Brees can be. After losing a close one against San Francisco last week, New Orleans knows how important each game is from here on out.
Washington looks like a team that is still trying to figure themselves out. Robert Griffin III gets injured and Kirk Cousins comes in to save the day. Wrong. Colt McCoy comes in and wins a game but it does not last long. Now we are back with RGIII. Going up against a lifeless Tampa Bay team, I see Washington playing very nicely at home.
Denver has been on a roll and it is not likely that it will end here. They do face a very tough team in St. Louis, who has already taken out the likes of San Francisco and Seattle. St. Louis has the defense to match-up with the Denver offense but their offense will surely struggle against a defense that boasts Aqib Talib, DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller.
After being stood up at the goal line last weekend, San Francisco looks to keep themselves well in the playoff hunt. The New York Giants have struggled all season and do have a slight edge at home. Look for Colin Kaepernick to carry the offense.
I had many doubts about the Chiefs but they have been incredible in the last month. This week they will get the opportunity to show why Arrowhead competes with Century Link for the title of “Loudest Stadium in the NFL”. Seattle will get to witness it, getting a taste of their own medicine. Jamaal Charles has been incredible and will continue to do so.
It is easy to say San Diego has struggles, losing 3 straight. After a much needed bye week, the team will have Ryan Mathews, Jeremiah Attaochu and others back from injury. Oakland plays very tough against San Diego but playing at Qualcomm against the winless team will give San Diego a much needed bounce in their step.
It is tough to think that Arizona will win against a very promising Detroit team without Carson Palmer. Well, look back and remember that 3 games on their record comes on the courtesy of Drew Stanton who went 2-1 on the first Palmer injury. The defense has been superb but they match a Detroit defense that is arguably the best in the league. Stanton, facing his former team, will need to dig deep down to relieve pressure off of the defense.
Green Bay SPANKED the Bears. I could say many other words to describe that game but they would be very inappropriate (trying to keep it PG). Playing a Mark Sanchez led Philadelphia team sounds like cake but the guy has not lost, yet. But, this week, I do expect Aaron Rodgers to keep doing what he has been doing the last few weeks.
I do not care what anyone else says but this team in the best in the league. New England, after their 2-2 start, has been knocking teams out left and right, including Denver. Playing in Indianapolis will surely be a challenge but I look for the New England secondary to disrupt Andrew Luck.
In what was a laugher last week, Pittsburgh lose to the New York Jets, 20-13. What are the odds that they lose to two terrible teams in consecutive weeks? Well, I don’t think it will happen.
