Rivers completed 43 out of 65 passes for 503 yards. All three of those broke San Diego Charger records. He also threw for 2 touchdowns. Unfortunately, he came up just short of a third touchdown that could have kept him from breaking another record: the NFL record for most completions in a loss.

  • Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets
20 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown, three catches for 50 yards
  • John Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
    10 catches for 196 yards
  • DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans
10 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns

Defensive Player of the Week

Wake embraced his new head coach’s defensive philosophy of a more fun and physical approach. He sacked the quarterback four times and forced two fumbles, all in the first half. Wake and the Dolphin defense ushered in the Dan Campbell Era in style.

  • Andre Hall, CB, Houston Texans
    2 interceptions, 1 for a 31-yard touchdown
  • Karlos Dansby, ILB, Cleveland Browns
    2 interceptions, 1 for a 35-yard touchdown
  • Bashaud Breeland, CB, Washington Redskins
Interception, forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries

Boswell hit all four of his field goal attempts, including field goals of 47, 48, and 51 yards. He also had an extra point, to give him 13 points on a day when the Steelers won by 12. Considering how the Steeler kicking game has gone this year, Boswell has been a welcome addition in Pittsburgh.

  • Dustin Hopkins, K, Washington Redskins
2/2 on field goals, including a 54 yarder
  • David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals
Six kick returns for 136 yards
  • Sam Martin, P, Detroit Lions
    4 punts for 221 yards, a 55.3 average, 60 yard long
