Monday Stanley Cup Playoff One-Liners

With the Stanley Cup playoffs kicking into full gear, here are some things to know heading into this weeks games.

  • The home team has won every game so far in the Western half of the bracket.
  • Montreal is the only team to go up three games to none, and has a chance to close out the series at home Tuesday night.
  • Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook will miss the next three games for this hit on David Backes, who will also miss tonight’s game due to concussion.

  • Ray Emery will stay in net as the series returns to Philadelphia (1-1), as Steve Mason is still out.
  • The City of Columbus will host its first playoff game in nearly five years, whatever tickets they had left were gone by 7am, with the line starting at 5am at Nationwide Arena.
  • Not to be one upped, the City of Dallas will host their first game in nearly six years, “Can’t wait to see what it is going to be like. It should be fun, especially early. I’m sure it is going to be real intense,” Stars Defenseman Alex Goligoski is excited.
  • Colorado has the playoffs leading goal scorer, Paul Stastny (3), and assist leader, Nathan MacKinnon (6). Stastny also leads the league with seven points.*

  • Through two games only two teams have perfect penalty kill percentage, San Jose and Boston.
  • The Wild, down two games to none, will switch goalies going with Darcy Kuemper getting the nod over Ilya Bryzgalov.
  • Tuukka Rask leads all goalies in Goals Against Average 1.02 and Save Percentage .966.
  • Out of the 17 games played, so far the away team has won only five games.

Bonus- PK Subban just being filthy on that assist.
