Manchester City Fails at Anfield

Manchester City had a tough away game as they paid a visit to Anfield and the inspired Reds. Liverpool wanted to get a victory against the second place team of the Premier league to get closer to the top four places.

It took eleven minutes for the first goal to appear in this fantastic game. In a counter attack, Raheem Sterling assisted Jordan Herdenson who beat Pablo Zabaleta outside the eighteen and hit a wonderful shot that went in the upper right corner.

One minute after the goal, Manchester City had the opportunity to equalize the game on a deep ball by David Silva who found Sergio Aguero in space. Aguero found the ball inside the box and struck with his left foot, but unfortunately hit the woodwork.

In the 26th minute Edin Dzeko found the back of the net for the Citizens after a brilliant ball by Sergio Aguero who cut inside and took three Liverpool defenders with him and fed Dzeko inside the box with enough space to shoot across.

On the 75th minute, Jose Coutinho hit a shot on the left side on top of the eighteen and topped Jordan Henderson’s goal and once again Joe Hart was beaten with nothing to do on both phenomenal shots.

Liverpool, after two great quality shots, earned the 2-1 victory and the three points. They sit in 5th place, two points behind 4th place Manchester United. Manchester City remains 2nd with 55 points and only 4 points ahead of Arsenal. Liverpool will receive Burnley for a great opportunity to get three points and continue fighting for the top four. As for Manchester City, they receive Leicester City for a wonderful opportunity to forget about the past and earn three points.
