After finding out that he was not going to the World Cup to defend his colors, Donovan was obviously upset. On his Facebook page he wrote that he was upset with the decision his coach made in leaving him out of the World Cup. The striker has an incredible history, has played in 3 World Cups, he was looking forward Brazil to make his fourth world cup but now those dreams are shattered. Further more, he also said that he would be supporting his teammates and that it was an honor and a privilege representing the USMNT in the 3 prior World Cups, even though he really wanted to go to Brazil, he’s a bit disappoint it with the decision of his coach making it the hardest pill to swallow.
Although he is not on the list, Donovan will continue training and make soccer grow in the United States. I could clearly see that Landon had high hopes on going to this year’s World Cup and Jurgen just shattered them. The only way Donovan would get the opportunity to go to the World Cup is if someone gets injured. For now, we have to see a World Cup without Donovan and he’s not the only one. Brazil also forgot to take Ronaldinho, Kaka, Ricardo Izecson and Robinho, a lot of talent that will be missed in this year’s edition of the FIFA World Cup.
