Even though the Scudetto is pretty much in the bag for Juventus, they still continue to fire on all cylinders. Even against 14th place Empoli, they are stubborn to drop points.

Juventus gathered a few good chances in the early minutes of the match, but Empoli keeper, Luigi Sepe, was there to save the day.

Juventus were awarded a free-kick inside the box just at the corner of the six-yard-box after an Empoli defender seemed to have tapped the ball back to the keeper, who then picked it up with his hands. The free-kick required one-touch before a goal and Arturo Vidal laid the ball off to Carlos Tevez who smashed the ball into the top of the net through defenders to give Juventus the lead. Tevez now has 17 goals in the season for Juventus.

Juventus sealed the win during stoppage time as Tevez’s shot was deflected back towards the middle by the keeper and Roberto Pereyra was there to pick up the scraps. Patrice Evra looked as if he may have wanted a goal for himself on that one, especially after a great display on the day, but Pererya was first to the ball.

Juventus keep their lead at 14 and at the moment are the sole contenders for the title. They will face Monaco on the 14th in the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League after defeating Dortmund 5-1 on aggregate. Currently, they are missing star players Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio because of injury and may now face losing Arturo Vidal as he limped off late in the match with an ankle injury. So far, Juventus have been one of the best teams in Europe and still hold their ground with injured players which shows their depth.
