Arizona’s Postseason Pitching Woes Continue
http://gty.im/858501342
After being ranked in the top 5 in team era and pitching, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitching staff has been struggling lately. The Pitching staff has allowed 8 runs against the Rockies and 9 last night. Starting pitchers Zack Greinke and Taijuan Walker have struggled so far this Postseason.
The Diamondbacks got to Kershaw
Despite loosing Game 1, the one positive the DBacks can take into Game 2 is their hitting. Being down 4-0 and facing Clayton Kershaw is a big challenege, but the Diamondbacks got to him last night. The Diamondbacks hit four home runs against Kershaw last night and really gave him a challenge. Kershaw went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing, 4 earned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7.
Whats Next for the Series?
The Dodgers are looking to take a 2-0 lead in the series on Saturday to give themselves the inside track to get to the NLCS. So Game 2 is a must win for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The pitching matchup for Game 2 is Robbie Ray (15-5, 2.89 ERA) vs. Rich Hill (12-8, 3.32 ERA). Ray pitched in the Wild Card going 3 and 1/3 innings allowing one run and striking out 3.
