Wolsfburg remain ten points behind Bayern after a strong 2-0 win away at Hamburg, which leaves the North Germany team in serious trouble of getting relegated from top flight German football for the first time in their history.

Josuha Guilavogui and Daniel Caligiuri netted the goals for Wolfsburg. As a result, their place in next years Champions League was secured with 19 points separating them from fifth-placed Schalke with only six games remaining in the German season.

Hamburg finished the game with 10 men when Johan Djourou was sent off late on. Hamburg will need to make up for points over Hannover if they are to avoid relegation with just six games left to play.

Hamburgs strong start was ruined in the 10th minute when Cleber lost the ball cheaply to Kevin De Bruyne, who’s ball found its way through to Guilavogui, who sent his finish through the legs of Rene Adler.

what would be most worrying for Hamburg fans is the fact that the home side are yet to come from behind in in the Bundesliga so far this season, with only in 16 games scored in 27 games this season.

The home fans tried their best to lift the team but it was clear that Wolfsburg had control of the match.

Chances kept coming for the Wolves with Dost striking the crossbar, albeit from an offside position, and Caligiuri seeing his shot blocked.

Eventually Wolfsburg got their second in the 73rd minute when Caligiuri exchanged passes with Dost before beating Adler.

A Hamburg comeback looked impossible and the game was over for the home side when Djourou was shown a second yellow card. Wolfsburg won the match comfortably and the home fan whislts at the end of the match said it all about their teams performance as the season’s end nears.
