It is easy to see why Gennady  “GGG” Golovkin 28-0 (25KOs) was picked fighter of the year by us. He has won all four of  his fights this year by way of knockout and has called out Sergio Martinez to a fight, which he will have to wait until after June 8th. He is the definition of old school boxing, delivering power punches and demonstrating perfect form. He is not only defeating everybody who he confronts, but also has the highest knockout percentage.

He is a quite boxer, who never talks smack but does his talking in the ring. Nobody, at the moment, comes close to his winning percentage and he gives it all delivering amazing fights. Golovkin is an amazing fighter who will surely dominate the middleweight division much like the Klitschko‘s are doing in heavyweight. He will keep on performing at the same level and will keep on putting out the same amount of fights that he has done.

Our other runner ups that were close to making the cut but didn’t make it are Guillermo Rigondeaux, ending the Philipino Flash’s winning streak. Another fighter that was close was Miguel Cotto and Timothy Bradley. But in the end, GGG did what all of them couldn’t do and have so much shock and awe in every single match of this year.

For 2014, Golovkin could have a potential match ups against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Andre Ward or Miguel Cotto. Either one of this fights would make for potential fight of the years and everybody is ready to see what GGG can do next year. No doubt he will start the year amazing and will keep on beating anybody that passes his way. Congratulations Gennady Golovkin, for winning Fighter of The Year.
