Where Is He Going

Beckham has been sent to the Browns in exchange for S Jabrill Peppers and a first and third round pick in this years draft. With the addition of Beckham, on paper the Browns have one of the most impressive offensive units in the league. With 1st overall pick Baker Mayfield looking impressive. And with Jarvis Landry on the other side opposing defensive will be left to pick their poison on passing downs. Furthermore, Cleveland also has a solid tight end in David Njoku, and a stable of running backs. Look for the Browns to contended for not only a division title, but make a deep playoff run.

What This Means For The Giants

With Beckham gone and the Giants front office claiming stead fast in their belief in an aging Eli Manning the G Men are going nowhere.  Although the defense will be better with Peppers, they will struggle to put up points. Don’t be surprised if the Giants end up in the bottom third in the league in points per game. New York fans could see their team head in to rebuild mode. Especially when you couple this latest move with letting pro bowl safety Landon Collins walk the other day.

Who Won The Trade?

While it is hard to say this early, it looks like the Browns may have gotten the best of the Giants. While Cleveland improved exponentially the Giants got worse. Their receiving core was depleted to begin with and now it lacks any star power. They still have Saquon Barkley in the backfield however, with no Beckham to keep the defense honest there is nothing to stop opponents from crowding the box. Not to mention the increased  work load that Barkley is bound to see as the team’s primary weapon. Let’s face it the Giants are probably going to finish last again.
