Chelsea-Everton Highlights

Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Chelsea leaders of the Premier League were looking to keep their seven point spread against Everton, who sit 12th with 27 points.

Just in the 4th minute there was a clear handball inside Everton’s box that was not called in favor of the blues.

Minute 67″ Romelu Lukaku had a golden opportunity to put Everton ahead, but Petr Cech made a fantastic safe with his left foot and kept the game tied.

It was not until the final minutes where Everton’s keeper, Tim Howard was finally beat by a deflected shot by the MVP William and gave the blues the lead with only one minute left in the game.

Chelsea maintains their seven point lead and will face Burnley at Stamford Bridge next. Everton will receive at home Leicester City, for a good opportunity to come back after this tough loss and get 3 points.

 

Stoke City – Manchester City Highlights

Stoke City 1-4 Manchester City

After drawing their last game, the citizens had no other choice but to to get 3 points from Stoke City to stay in close range from Chelsea. Stoke City sitting in 10th with 33 points had a tough match ahead.

In the 33rd minute Sergio Aguero on an individual play was able to score and put Manchester City up one nil.

The citizens celebration only lasted five minutes, until Peter Crouch tied up the game with a header from a magnificent cross by Marko Arnautovic. Marko Arnautovic’s cross is probably the best cross of the season, something David Beckham would have done.

Nine minutes into the second half James Milner scored a nice header into the back of Asmir Begovic goal. After beautiful combination by Samir Nasri and David Silva on the right side, Nasri assisted Milner to make it 2-1.

Minute 70″ Sergio Aguero took a penalty kick to put the citizens ahead to make it 3-1 after David Silva was brought down inside the box.

Six minutes later Nasri sealed the victory for the citizens after a wonderful solo play to make it 4-1, this was Nasri’s first goal of the season.

The citizens are still seven points behind the leaders Chelsea and will face Newcastle United at Etihad Stadium. For Stoke City, they will visit Villa Park, a tough game.

Manchester United 3-1 Burnley

After a draw in the weekend, Manchester United was dropped to 4th place. They were hoping to find a victory and go back to winning ways. Burnley were looking for a victory to get out of the last 3 regulation places.

Chris Smalling MVP of the game, scored 20 seconds after being subbed in the 5th minute for the red devils off a corner kick that was header back into play by Radamel Falcao.

Six minutes later Angel Di Maria lost a ball in Manchester United’s side of the half that was well taken advantage by Danny Ings who headed a magnificent ball that was crossed by the right side.

Right before the first half was over, Smalling found the back of the net once again on a header that was crossed by the right side by Angel Di Maria.

Eight minutes before the end of the game Robin Van Persie finished Burnley by scoring the third goal off a penalty kick after Di Maria was brought down on the left side on a counter attack.

Manchester United were able to earn three valuable points and stay in the top four. Burnely continues to suffer and is placed 19th with 21 points. Manchester United will visit Swansea City for a difficult match. Burnley will visit the toughest stage to win a game and will face the leaders Chelsea at Stanford Bridge.

Southampton 0-0 West Ham United

Southampton had urge to win this game if they wanted to continue in 3rd place. West Ham United sitting in 8th with 37 points had a tough match ahead visiting St. Mary’s.

Southampton dominated the whole game but were not able to find the back of the net. Even after Adrian, the West Ham United goalkeeper was sent off the game with thirty minutes remaining in the game. The second goalie Jussi Jaaskelainen made a few valuable safes to keep the game 0-0.

After the draw Southampton drops to 4th place with 46 points and West Ham United stayed in 8th place. Southampton will receive  the inspired Liverpool squad at home, while West Ham United will visit Tottenham Hotspur.
