Aston Villa vs. Liverpool was the other semi finalist game for the FA Cup. The first one was held Saturday, April 18 in a match between Arsenal and Reading. Arsenal won in extra time 2-1.

Liverpool went up one-nil at minute 30′ with a close range finish from Philippe Coutinho after an unsuccessful clearance by Aston Villa. Just six minutes later, Aston Villa was able to find the equalizer from a finish from Christian Benteke as he was on  top of the box on a set back pass.

Game was back and forth and could have gone either way, the ball possession was really even from both sides with Liverpool having fifty one percent.

Just nine minutes into the second half Fabian Delph scored and gave Aston Villa the victory to look for their 8th cup tittle. Aston Villa was able to find their second goal from well ball movement and successful passing. Last time Aston Villa won the FA Cup it was on 1957.

Brendan Rodgers is now the first Liverpool manager not to win a trophy within his first three seasons since the 1950s. This might be taken into consideration to see if he will continue to manage the reds next season. Daniel Sturridge absence has been a key factor in Liverpool’s results.

Aston Villa will play Arsenal at Wembley for the FA Cup Final on May 30th, 2015.
