Arsenal Comes Back Strong After UCL Defeat

Arsenal had to forget about what happened mid week against Monaco and get it together to win a valuable game against 14th place Everton, and it was not going to be easy.

Early in the first half, Romelu Lukaku had the opportunity to score after a stolen ball from new signing Gabriel Paulista, but David Ospina came out took the ball away from Lukaku. Ospina showed great Manuel Neuer skills.

Six minutes before the end of the first half Oliver Giroud scored for the Gunners. Mesut Ozil took a corner kick to first post, Giroud lost his mark and made contact with the ball on a volley and kept Tim Howard still as the ball went into second post.

Everton had a few opportunities to score in the second half, but the MVP of the game, David Ospina, kept the clean sheet. Minute 89′, Tomas Rosicky scored for the Gunners and sealed the victory after only being on the pitch for seven minutes. Tomas got open space and shot outside the eighteen and the ball was deflected by the Everton’s captain Phil Jagielka and ended up in the back of the net.

Arsenal came back strong and took the three points, which keeps them in 3rd place with 51 points. Arsenal will visit Queens Park Rangers and Everton will visit Stoke City in the middle of the week.
