The 2012 NFL MVP will suit back up in 2015. The NFL has announced that Adrian Peterson will be reinstated and will be effective on April 17th.

Peterson was indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child in September 2014. He was put on the commissioner’s exempt list, which took out any possibility of him returning to the Minnesota Vikings in 2014. Since then, Peterson’s return to the Vikings has been a messy one as rumors claimed that the star running back demanded a trade. A native of Texas, Peterson was said to have a connection with the Dallas Cowboys. At this point, the chances of a move to Dallas are pretty slim as the Cowboys may not have enough cap room.

The reinstatement also comes at an important time as the draft is only two weeks away. If Peterson really does want to be traded and the Vikings are willing to meet his demands, then they may use him as trade bait during the draft. I return, the Vikings could stock up on draft picks.

If he does not get traded, there has also been speculation that he may sit out next season, putting the Vikings in a tough situation.

Also, the NFL has told Peterson that another infraction may result in his banishment from the NFL.
