1. Houston Texans- Blake Bortles, QB, UCF
Bortles is a big-bodied Quarterback that reminds everyone of a younger Ben Roethlisberger. Bortles is aggressive in the pocket, and maintains poise while getting rushed by defenders. His arm strength is at a medium range, but he will be able to work on it with Bill O’Brian. O’Brian is a Quarterback coach, and he will be able to pick from the crop this draft.
2. St. Louis Rams- Greg Robinson, T, Auburn
Robinson was a huge part of the Tigers winning season in 2013-14. He opened holes all year long for Heisman finalist Tre Mason. He is a great protector in both the pass and run, which will play a big part for injury-prone Sam Bradford. He is a solid pick at number two, he just needs to work a little bit on his maturity.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jadaveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
Clowney IS one of the best prospects to come out of college football in the last decade. Many believe Clowney is a replica of Mario Williams. Clowney will bring talent and versatility to a weak Jaguars defense. He is a steal at pick number three, and I can’t think of a reason why the Jaguars would pass him up.
4. Cleveland Browns- Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
Sammy Watkins at number four just makes sense. The Browns had stud receiver Josh Gordon last season, so why not put another huge threat on the other side of him. Watkins has incredible speed and an average height. He needs to work on fundamentals, but other than that he is an incredible player.
5. Oakland Raiders- Jake Matthews, T, Texas A&M
Matthews is my number two tackle on my big board, and I believe he is making a push for number one. Matthews had an incredible career at Texas A&M, and I believe he will make a difference in the NFL. Oakland just got rid of Jared Veldheer and also didn’t sign Roger Saffold. Matthews can come in and fill a big void at the tackle position.
6. Atlanta Falcons- Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
Mack is one of the top linebacker prospects I’ve seen in a long time. Mack standing at 6’3″ 246 pounds, has mad speed and a great tackling ability. The Atlanta Falcons have had problems trying to find a guy to fit their scheme, but I believe they find it in Mack at pick number six.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Taylor Lewan, T, Michigan
I’d like to start off saying Lewan was my top tackle in this draft. Lewan has the speed, size and strength to be a top tackle in the NFL. After seeing him break the forty lineman record I was blown away. Then he got in trouble with the law, and we know how that works out. The Buccaneers new coach Lovie Smith will Bring Lewan in, help him get his mind right and make him a top tackle.
8. Minnesota Vikings- Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
It’s time for a change in Minnesota. Christian Ponder hasn’t been playing to his potential, and has caused them numerous games. If the Vikings are smart, they will bring in a young, talented quarterback like Teddy. He is a outstanding pocket passer and also has the ability to scramble with the ball. He has decent size and reminds me a lot of Warren Moon. Bridgewater here is a snag.
9. Buffalo Bills- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
I know a lot of people don’t believe the hype of this guy, but he has pure TALENT that is very hard to pass up. Ebron brings a big-bodied up the middle threat for one-year pro quarterback E.J Manuel. He has breakaway speed for a tight-end and also a pair of sure hands. He has the potential to be ranked with the likings of Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski.
10. Detroit Lions- Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
This pick right here might be the biggest steal in the draft. Glibert has mad speed and great size. While at Oklahoma State Gilbert played cornerback, kick return and punt return. Gilbert has the ability to make game changing plays, and the Lions are really lacking a solid corner. With the addition they may be able to stop Brandon Marshall, Jordy Nelson and Cordarelle Patterson.
11. Tennessee Titans- Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
Barr is one of the better defensive players in this draft. He has a great edge-rush and good zone coverage for a linebacker. Barr brings more youth to a slow Titans defense. Barr should fit very well in the Titans new 3-4 look. Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt has said that he likes Barr and believes he has a lot of potential in the NFL.
12. New York Giants- Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Evans has great potential going into the NFL. Evans standing at 6’5 would be one of the larger receivers in the NFL. Evans was Manziel’s favorite target at Texas A&M and could easily be Eli Manning’s favorite. Evans has decent hands, but his speed and height makes up for it. Evans can come into the Giants offense as an immediate starter.
13. St. Louis Rams- HaHa Clinon Dix, FS, Alabama
Coach Jeff Fisher knows that Alabama produces great players. Dix is an outstanding safety with great tackling ability. Dix can make big plays, but he doesn’t have good enough hands to come up with all of the interceptions. He is a prototype safety and will fit well in the Rams defense. HaHa will likely be a day one starter.
14. Chicago Bears- Timmy Jernigan, NT, Florida State
Jernigan was one of the best defensive players in the ACC this past season. Jernigan recorded numerous sacks, and maintained to stay healthy throughout the season. He will come in as an immediate starter, replacing recently lost Henry Melton. He will play great against a weak center NFC North.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
This pick will solidify the Steelers’ defense. Ike Taylor is around the age of retirement, and the Steelers need a good replacement for when he leaves. Dennard is the most physical corner in this draft, and that is exactly what Mike Tomlin likes. Dennard will learn behind some great veterans, and possibly become a draft day steal.
