This is part three of my post-Super bowl rankings I decided to share for this coming season. Whether you’re in a dynasty league looking to make moves, in a very early re-draft league, or just studying early to be ahead of your opponents this list should help you. If you missed part one (QB’s) click HERE, part two (RB’s) click HERE, and part three (TE’s) click HERE.

Pending any injuries, this should be an accurate list of rankings.

2014 WR Rankings

Calvin Johnson Megatron is the safest receiver to own in terms of consistency. Expect bigger numbers this season with new head coach Jim Caldwell fixing Stafford’s issues with the major beneficiary being Calvin.
AJ Green Back to back seasons with stud numbers. There might be a fall off in targets this season with gunslinger OC Jay Gruden gone and their new OC being a run first mind.
Demaryius Thomas Manning may not have another record setting season but with Decker basically gone it should lead to more targets especially in the red zone. Expect a top 5 finish.
Dez Bryant With how bad the defense will be in the big D expect a lot of shootouts with the Cowboys. This means Dez will be getting a lot of chances to show his talents through the air.
Josh Gordon Great talent who finished number one overall last season even after missing the first two weeks of the season. The reason he’s not ranked higher is his QB situation and his past off the field issues. Without a better QB he may end up a one-year wonder and if he messes up one more time in his personal life then the NFL will make sure he’s a one year wonder.
Julio Jones An injury cut off what seemed to be a fabulous season in the making for him. He’s too young to pin the injury prone tag on but another season cut short and he will be the WR version of McFadden.
Brandon Marshall He’s getting older but Cutler is still QB and he will get his enormous amount of targets. He should provide another top ten campaign especially in PPR.
Alshon Jeffery He emerged last season as a huge threat, literally. Expect a lot of balls tossed his way in the red zone and with Marshall keeping double coverage off of him; Alshon should win a lot of jump balls.
Jordy Nelson Another player limited by injury last season. With James Jones gone all the deep balls should go towards Rodgers favorite downfield target. Expect a bounce back season.
Keenan Allen San Diego has found their new stud receiver two seasons after V Jax packed up and left. Expect him to only improve and with head coach Mike McCoy the offense should continue to push forward.
Antonio Brown He proved to be well worth the contract he was given. He’s matchup proof in ppr and expects a strong season again with the Steelers defense only getting older.
Randall Cobb The amount of injuries to talented receivers was ridiculous as Cobb was another victim. He is talented, and has been compared to Harvin a lot, lets hope he’s not as injury prone as Harvin as well
Pierre Garcon Expect Washington to add another receiver but Garcon will more than likely stay the number one and with a new coach coming in expect RG3 to improve through the air.
Vincent Jackson He’s had back-to-back great seasons even with the QB issues in Tampa Bay. Imagine how he would finish in fantasy with a good QB.
Larry Fitzgerald He is getting older but he has his talent still. Unfortunately Palmer was not the answer to him getting back to the top of lists like these but he’s still top 20 for sure.
Victor Cruz Very off year for the Giants overall. Try to forget that season ever happened when drafting this year.
Michael Crabtree The theme of receivers injured last year making a comeback continues with Crabtree. They don’t throw enough for him to be top 10 but his talent and ability to gain yard after the catch keeps him in the top 20.
Andre Johnson The future QB of the Texans is still not known but Andre Johnson should still have the skill to put up a great season. He’s been too good for too long to fall off because of the QB.
Percy Harvin Harvin finally returned to full health last season in the super bowl and showed us why we all love him. He multidimensional and can have huge days, expect a great season if he can stay healthy.
DeSean Jackson With Foles in charge now the deep ball is alive in Philly and DeSean loves it. There have been rumors he may be traded but if he stays in Philly expect another strong season out of one of Chip Kelly’s many weapons.

This coming season, my draft strategy when dealing with WR’s is to wait it out. The top 20 may be very tempting to draft early and often but I would hold off. If I miss out on the top 8 in the early rounds then I’m waiting because there will be a lot of good receivers available later like potential breakout Cordarrelle Patterson or a classic talent like Roddy White.
